We have a great understanding of dealing with insurance and pensions, and retirement benefit schemes
We provide specialist insurance and pensions legal advice as well as regulatory services in the Isle of Man.
The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority is charged with the regulation of the insurance and pensions sectors. Life assurance and non-life insurance companies that carry out their business in, or from, the Isle of Man are required to be authorised under The Insurance Act 2008.
This regulates international pension schemes (managed from the Isle of Man but having no Isle of Man resident members) and domestic pension schemes aimed principally at Isle of Man residents. Both international and domestic schemes are required to register with the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority. These schemes fall under the Retirement Benefit Schemes (International Schemes) Regulations 2001 and the Retirement Benefits Schemes (Domestic Schemes) (General Administration) Regulations 2004 respectively.
Insurance and Pensions (Retirement Benefit Schemes) | What we do
We work with trustees, employers, pension specialists and business advisers, giving independent expert advice and guidance on what is expected of them.
As dedicated insurance and pension advisers we will get to know you and your business, your circumstances and objectives before offering any regulatory advice. As a result we will have a better understanding of your regulatory requirements. In addition, we will be able to create and implement with you any processes and procedures deemed necessary as a result of our conversations.
As experts in assisting clients in the financial services sector, both locally and in the international market, we are able to provide insurance and pension specific pragmatic advice. Subsequently, our experience extends beyond regulatory matters and so we can also look after our clients through implementation and then in every stage of the business’s lifecycle.
