MannBenham supports further growth

The way in which the natural compounds found in the plants of the Cannabis genus can be used has attracted a lot of attention from around the globe.

As a consequence of the Isle of Man Government’s ability to adapt to new markets and diversify, earlier this year they introduced a flexible and detailed regulatory framework to allow commercial operators to grow, manufacture, distribute and export cannabis products under licence from the Isle of Man.

Since then, the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC), who are the regulator for the sector, have introduced several licensing pathways which are dependent upon the type of cannabis product the intended licensee wishes to either cultivate, manufacture derived products, or transport to or from the Island. These new pathways have expanded further into growing for analysis and research purposes, creating additional channels for this industry to flourish.

Miles Benham, Managing Director at MannBenham has said, “The growing global regulated cannabis market provides significant opportunity for economic development in Isle of Man. The regulation of the marketplace in the Isle of Man has responded to industry and consumer demand for stringent and flexible licensing across a broad assortment of cannabis products, ranging from outdoor grown industrial hemp to indoor grown medicinal products.

This is a great opportunity, and one we fully support at MannBenham, for the Isle of Man to nurture this flourishing market and develop solid relationships by attracting quality businesses to the Island. With these new licensing pathways, and working closely with the regulator, we can advise and assist businesses looking to grow hemp on the Isle of Man for industrial or medicinal purposes.

MannBenham is here not just in a legal capacity but provides business support, we advise and assist businesses with the formation of Isle of Man companies, business immigration, facilitating land and business premises, as well as helping with seeking finance and general company administration. We are here to help from seed to crop.”

MannBenham supports these new Isle of Man regulations and licence pathways as the legal use of hemp and other cannabis products continues to grow globally.
