MannBenham supports the Arts

At MannBenham, we believe that a vibrant cultural life is essential to the health and success of our island community. That is why we are immensely proud to continue our partnership with the Department of Education Sport and Culture (DESC) in supporting the legendary Gaiety Theatre, a key venue within the VillaGaiety complex in Douglas.

The Gaiety Theatre is more than just a venue; it is the “jewel in the Manx entertainment crown”, renowned as one of the finest surviving examples of work by the legendary architect, Frank Matcham. Having first opened in 1900, the theatre underwent thirty years of extensive restoration to return it to its current magnificent condition. Today, it continues to host a year-round calendar of performances, including plays, musicals, concerts, and comedy shows, enriching the lives of Manx audiences.

Our commitment to this magnificent piece of Victorian heritage is formalised through our corporate partnership, and one which we have continued to support for several years. You can see our name prominently displayed on the prestigious Gaiety Theatre Safety Curtain—the curtain at the front of the stage. Our support helps to maintain the theatre’s historic features and ensures it can continue to host more than 200,000 visitors annually.

As a leading full-service law firm based in the Isle of Man, providing a complete range of legal, corporate, and advisory solutions, our dedication extends beyond the commercial and private sector. We pride ourselves on being a professional and agile firm, and contributing to the arts is a natural extension of our commitment to the island’s future. By supporting the Gaiety Theatre, we are helping to maintain this irreplaceable historical landmark and provide a thriving platform for new cultural development, which aligns with the Isle of Man Governments’s vision to inspire and provide cultural opportunities for all. We are delighted to be a Corporate Partner and encourage everyone to visit the VillaGaiety website to see the fantastic line-up of events and experience this magnificent venue for yourselves, and look out for us on the safety curtain!
